This is a new series to highlight our GSPN crew members. The GSPN members are a group of students who came together to share the local news surrounding the school and the oncoming weekly news online. Their goal is to make the news fun and interesting, while also informing people about sports and other important events. 

    The member we are highlighting this week is Maribelle Martin. She is a senior and is included in many different activities. She is a part of BETA club, Leadership team, basketball, and volleyball. Maribelle is also excited, as she will work this Christmas season at Silver Dollar City, as a cast member in The Living Nativity show.

Maribelle has been involved in GSPN for two years. When asked what her favorite part about being on the team was, she said, “My favorite part about being on GSPN is getting to tell people what to do,  even if they don't like it, and I get to put funny videos of people online.”  We then asked her what her role is in GSPN, she stated, “My role in GSPN is editor in Chief and I am also just a GSPN cast member.”  Finally, we asked if  there is anything difficult about being in GSPN, and she said “Sometimes we have fun but a little too much fun, and not get our work done, and so then have to do double the work the next day.”

We then asked her how GSPN affected her high school experience, she stated, “It has definitely added a little bit of excitement, I have been doing it 90% of my time.” The next question we asked was if she had any advice to give future GSPN members she exclaimed, “Do everything on time and also ask the students outside of GSPN what they want to see, because they are the ones who are watching it!” Next we asked about her favorite GSPN memory. “Probably when I got to broadcast at the Purdy basketball game with Averi, because we cooked!” Finally, we asked her about her future plans, and she stated, “I want to go to college for sports, media and broadcasting so I can interview Andy Reid, the coach for the Chiefs, and if not, become a dancer.”
